Dr. Nirmita

Dr. Nirmita has transformed over 200 smiles with composite bonding at Tulip Dental. Her skill in shade matching, contouring, and surface finishing makes composite veneers that are genuinely difficult to distinguish from natural teeth, at a fraction of the cost of porcelain.

Composite bonding is her recommendation when patients want a result that is immediate, affordable, and reversible. It is the right starting point for younger patients who may want to upgrade to ceramic veneers later, and the right permanent choice for patients who want good results without the cost or commitment of porcelain.

"Composite bonding is not a compromise, it is a different treatment suited to a different patient. Done well, it is beautiful. Done quickly without skill, it looks exactly like what it is. The difference is entirely in the technique."— Dr. Nirmita, BDS · Cosmetic Dentistry Specialist

What Are Composite Veneers?

One Visit. Same-Day Results.

Composite veneers (also called direct bonding or composite bonding) involve applying tooth-coloured composite resin directly to the tooth surface, sculpting it by hand to the correct shape, shade, and contour. No impressions. No lab. No waiting. The result is visible the moment you leave the chair.

Unlike ceramic veneers, composite bonding typically requires no enamel removal, it is additive, not subtractive. This makes it completely reversible. If you want to remove or replace the composite at any time, the original tooth underneath is unchanged. For patients who want to try cosmetic dentistry without a permanent commitment, composite bonding is the natural starting point.

01

Shade Selection

Dr. Nirmita selects the composite shade that matches your surrounding teeth precisely, or a slightly lighter shade if brightening is the goal. Under the clinic's colour-corrected lighting, she ensures the match will look natural in all lighting conditions.

02

Surface Preparation

The tooth surface is lightly etched to create a bond. In most cases, no anaesthesia is needed and no natural tooth structure is removed. The composite bonds directly to the existing enamel surface.

03

Sculpting & Finishing

Composite resin is applied in layers, each cured with a light. Dr. Nirmita sculpts the shape by hand, building, refining, and polishing until the result matches the digital preview. The entire process takes 30–45 minutes per tooth.

Honest Comparison

Composite vs Ceramic Veneers, Honest Differences

Both achieve beautiful results. They are different treatments for different goals and budgets.

Dr. Nirmita's recommendation: Composite veneers are the right choice for patients who want an immediate result, those who are younger and may want ceramic veneers later, and anyone who wants to avoid permanent commitment. She will not push you towards ceramic veneers if composite delivers the result you want.

FAQ

Composite Veneer Questions Answered

Questions about composite bonding? Dr. Nirmita answers on WhatsApp.

How long do composite veneers last? +
With normal care, composite veneers last 3–5 years before a touch-up or replacement may be needed. Avoid biting hard objects (ice, pen lids, hard crusts) with the bonded teeth. Maintain regular 6-monthly check-ups. Avoid heavy staining (tea, coffee, red wine, tobacco). With good habits, many patients hold their composite veneers for 5–7 years.
Is composite bonding painful? +
No, composite bonding is typically painless. In most cases, no anaesthesia is required because no enamel is removed and the tooth is not being drilled. Some patients with existing chips or cracks may feel minor sensitivity during the bonding process, which passes immediately.
Can I upgrade from composite to ceramic veneers later? +
Yes, this is one of the main advantages of composite veneers. Because no enamel is removed during composite bonding, the original tooth surface is preserved. When you are ready to upgrade to ceramic veneers, Dr. Nirmita simply removes the composite and prepares for the ceramic veneer as normal. Starting with composite does not limit your future options.
Will composite veneers look natural? +
Yes, when placed by a skilled operator with good shade matching. The key differences between natural-looking composite and obvious composite are: the shade selection (Dr. Nirmita matches under colour-corrected lighting), the surface finishing (final polish is critical), and the shape contouring (built to match your natural tooth proportions). Rushed composite bonding looks fake. Dr. Nirmita spends 30–45 minutes per tooth to get it right.
How much do composite veneers cost for a full smile? +
Composite veneer pricing at Tulip Dental is shared at your free consultation. A full smile makeover (6 teeth), priced at your free consultation. An 8-tooth complete smile, priced at your free consultation. All pricing is written before treatment begins. Most cases are completed in one appointment, no EMI needed for most patients.
