Teeth Cleaning & Scaling in Dombivli —
Remove the Tartar Your Brush Can't

Tartar is plaque that has hardened on your teeth. Once it forms, no toothbrush or mouthwash can remove it. A professional cleaning removes it safely, checks your gums, and stops small problems from turning into big ones.

Your Cleaning Is Done By

Dr. Anushka Ayare

Dr. Anushka Ayare, BDS, checks your teeth and gums before cleaning. She is soft-spoken, explains what she finds and takes a careful, comfort-focused approach to the visit.

If your gums are healthy, you get a routine scaling and polish. If she finds deeper pockets or bone loss, she shows you what she found and explains the difference before anything more is suggested. Deep cleaning is advised only when your gums actually need it.

What Happens in a Cleaning

Four Steps, About an Hour

Plaque is soft and brushing removes most of it. What your brush misses hardens into tartar within days, usually behind the lower front teeth and along the gumline. Tartar holds bacteria against your gums, which is what makes them bleed.

01

Check-Up First

Your teeth and gums are examined before cleaning. If there is a cavity or gum disease, you are told first, so nothing is hidden under a "cleaning".

02

Ultrasonic Scaling

A fine vibrating tip with a water spray breaks tartar off the teeth, above and just below the gumline. You will feel vibration and water, and some scraping where tartar is heavy.

03

Polishing

A polishing paste removes surface stains from tea, coffee, paan and tobacco, and smooths the surface so plaque sticks less.

04

Home-Care Advice & Next Visit

You are shown the areas you are missing when you brush, how to clean between teeth, and when to come back, usually in 6 months.

FAQ

Teeth Cleaning Questions Answered

Unsure whether you need a cleaning? Send us a message on WhatsApp.

Does scaling loosen teeth? +
No. Scaling does not loosen healthy teeth. When gum disease has already destroyed some bone, tartar can fill the gaps around a tooth and hold it stiff. Once the tartar is removed you may notice looseness that was already there. That is a sign the gums need treatment, not damage from the cleaning.
Does scaling damage enamel or weaken teeth? +
No. An ultrasonic scaler breaks off tartar, which is much softer than enamel. Done correctly, it does not remove enamel or make teeth weak.
Why do my teeth feel sensitive after a cleaning? +
Tartar often covers part of the root near the gumline. Once it is removed, cold water or air can feel sharper for a few days. This usually settles within one to two weeks, and a sensitivity toothpaste helps.
How often should I get my teeth cleaned? +
Every 6 months for most people. If you have had gum disease treated, smoke, chew tobacco or have diabetes, your dentist may advise every 3 to 4 months.
Will a cleaning make my teeth whiter? +
A cleaning removes surface stains from tea, coffee, paan and tobacco, so teeth look cleaner and closer to their natural shade. It does not change the natural colour of your teeth. That needs teeth whitening.
Is teeth cleaning safe during pregnancy or with diabetes? +
Yes. Pregnancy hormones make gums bleed more easily, so a cleaning often helps; the second trimester is usually the most comfortable time. With diabetes, healthy gums matter even more. Tell us about any pregnancy, medical condition or medicines before we start.
What does a teeth cleaning cost? +
It depends on how much tartar there is and whether your gums need more than a routine cleaning. Your teeth and gums are examined first and the fee is explained before we start. Nothing is done without your agreement.
